No.24
I know, I know. It's late again. I was finishing up the Italian translation in a manic and focused fashion, and I just didn't notice time doing its thing. Last week I mentioned that something exciting was afoot, and that is I'm going to Canada. Temporarily, but for a month. Expect even more erratic newsletter behaviour and lots of cooing about landscapes. I'll be in Victoria, Montréal and Joliette, so if any of you live there and drink coffee, I'll be around (look out for the woman wandering around with a pencil and jet lag).
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK:
One thing. Oops, but it was an all-over-the-shop sort of week.
BOOK-RELATED NEWS:
As previously (seconds ago) mentioned, I've just finished the Italian translation of The Illustrated Book of Sayings! This is superbly exciting, but I'm yet to feel that way because I have to wait for my fingers to recover from all the intense lettering.
It is perhaps additionally exciting because I'm going to be in Rome in December for a book festival. I'll be channelling Audrey Hepburn à la Roman Holiday and squeaking.
THINGS NOBODY HAS SEEN EVER:
1. The second in a group of personal illustrations I'm working on, the first of which is here. I think it's the colder weather creeping into my bones and making me all existential.
2. An upcoming quote post.
3. This Spanish term of endearment.
The end.
What a lot of white space this week, which feels wintery and Scandinavian and appropriate. If you live somewhere that still has warmth, I'm incredibly envious, as I sit here surrounded by half-empty cups of tea, wearing two pairs of socks and various items of knitwear, wondering how I will unfold myself out of the chair. I can't promise a newsletter next week (because I could be lost in the Canadian wilderness), but you can always follow me on Twitter and Instagram.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
