I loved everything about this post, Ella. Indigenous people know that the land is tied to their history, their knowledge, their art, their collective identity -- that's why they'd rather fight or die than leave. They would never burn orchards, pour concrete into water wells or uproot century-old olive trees, because they understand the sacredness of home.
