No.66
This past Wednesday I was out of town, and returning the next day it seemed that Autumn had, overnight, decided to take things seriously. Or perhaps you have to turn your back on things for a serious moment, in order to notice that they have in fact changed drastically—maybe observing them day in and day out gives an illusion of an unchanging landscape. The skies are spending their time as varying shades of colourless, and the panicked trees by comparison seem absurd, but I'm not in a hurry for winter, and I can wait.
ON THE JOURNEY RECENTLY:
Anything? Nothing. So far this month, I've been unable to keep my eyes on everything, whereas usually this can happen without too much effort. (I'm not sure why I needed to keep this section if I was only going to point out absence.)
OTHER NEWS:
Starting tomorrow morning, there is 25% off everything in my Society6 store, right through until the end of Monday. If you're looking for prints of the untranslatable words in Lost in Translation, or of the expressions in The Illustrated Book of Sayings/Speaking in Tongues, Society6 is where you'll find all of those. They have also redesigned their site, and it looks a bunch better.
You just need the following code: GIVEART25
If you didn't know I even had a store I cannot blame you, because I frequently forget myself, and am just horrible when it comes to self-promotion (I'm English, so perhaps it's an inherent and unavoidable thing).
THIS WEEK I FELL IN LOVE WITH:
These paintings by North Carolina-based Duy Huynh. The second one is titled 'Collecting Thoughts'.
The end.
I'm now going to spend the rest of my Saturday drafting a chapter for An Illustrated Guide to the Universe about light, so I'm anticipating brain-ache within a few hours as I flail about happily (gracefully or not—who really notices that sort of thing) in the intersection between science and art.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
