No.56
It's strange, coming to the end of something. I am of course talking about the 100 day project I've been doing, because when I write next week's newsletter it will be finished, completed, terminado. I've hidden them all here for now, in order but without explanations, while I decide what to do with them next. What would you do with them if you were me, other than relegate them to a webpage forever? I'm not sure but I don't want them to just be covered in dust and pixels and forgotten about.
ON THE JOURNAL THIS WEEK:
This week was very erratic, because there was this and then immediately afterwards this, and then nothing. But I did publish various small snippets of writing on Medium, which is a bit of a departure for me; not the writing of them, but the setting-them-loose part. I've had some lovely responses (I didn't mean to make you cry, sorry), but boy oh boy does it make me think of this quote:
Some of the things I posted are fictional, some are simply musings, and some are fiction dressed up as reality. Below is a piece of musing, which sounds relatively odd without the rest of it.
THIS WEEK I FELL IN LOVE WITH:
These piece by Danielle Krysa, who is otherwise known as The Jealous Curator (it is hard not to fall in love with most of the things she posts about really). And I've definitely mentioned this before, but her podcast is great for snooping on the creative practices of others, ahem.
A BRIEF REMINDER:
It has become evident to me lately just how bad I am at self-promotion, especially when it comes to my books. I'm sorry, publisher! So very briefly, in case you didn't already know (you probably do), I have had two books published, Lost in Translation and The Illustrated Book of Sayings—if you like the 100 day project you'll love them, and if you like me at all then you'll also probably like them, and they have been translated into multiple other languages if you fancy those. Self-promotion section over!
The end.
I'll make this quick, because I'm aware that I've already used up a lot of space in your inbox, but I'm really just so very delighted that so many of you receive this newsletter, and I'm looking forward to the near future, when I will be able to share new book secrets with you.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
