No.55
It's July, which means we have already lived through half of this year (well done us, really). Because it's 3:28pm and there isn't a whole lot going on in my head of note (it's been working with deadlines and stress and a bit too much life lately), I'll offer you a quote which I found to be just the right kind of nudge:
'We humans are here because nothing can be perfect. There always have to be some living things that are unsatisfied, itchy, trying too hard. If it was all just animals and rocks and lettuce, the gods wouldn't feel like they had enough to do.' — Miranda July
ON THE JOURNAL THIS WEEK:
This week we had romantics, a possible meeting, and a brief look at one of the freelance things I'm working on. The small piece illustrated pattern below is the aforementioned freelance project, a little further down the line. I would definitely have this as a wallpaper (if I was actually allowed to wallpaper anything in my apartment).
THIS WEEK I FELL IN LOVE WITH:
These collages by Sue Williams A'Court (so very dreamy).
The end.
Reaching newsletter No.55 feels suitably satisfying, partly because I adore multiples of eleven, but also because it just sounds like quite a few now. So while I'm happy to continue with things as they are, this feels like a good moment to ask whether there is anything you feel I'm neglecting to tell you here? Anything that you'd like me to do, or talk about, or have as an every-week sort of thing? I'm all ears (which would be an interesting illustration now I think about it; expect that soon).
Farewell, see you next sometime.
