No.45
It is impossibly sunny this morning. I was up early enough to be cold, to look out towards the countryside and see nothing at all, because it was so grey and haze-filled. But then, within what seemed like minutes, the sky turned cornflower blue and that was it—the day had decided to begin.
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE JOURNAL THIS WEEK:
On the journal, some disorder. Since I returned from my short trip on March 25th, it feels like all I've been doing is waiting for the Internet. It should (finally) be sorted on Tuesday, but it has been difficult this past couple of weeks to organise the posting of posts, or to focus well enough in a café to write emails, and I'm amazed at just how much slower life has been in the absence of such immediate connectivity.
What I can do however is give you the link below for Society6, which will give you 20% off everything and free shipping until the end of tomorrow (the 9th). You simply copy this link into your browser and the 20% discount will be applied: https://society6.com/ellafrancessanders?promo=8KQ96DNVYY82
THE SHARING OF A THING:
If you follow me on Instagram, then you will likely have noticed that I've begun the worldwide wonder that is The 100 Day Project. There are a couple of my favourite fellow creatives who are also taking part, like Anna and Amanda, and even though we are only on Day 5, the feeling I have about this project is a very good one—I can't sit still because of the excitement that I know I'll feel in a week, two, three. The anticipation felt for future excitement or happenings—is there a word for this, I wonder. It's more than just anticipation.
Below are the first four attempts at 100 Days of Other Languages; Portuguese, Swahili, Hebrew, German.
The end.
How long do we spend waiting, wanting for things that might be ours if only we spoke a little louder, formed a yes or a no, arrived ten minutes earlier. How much time can we allow ourselves in these scenarios—do we wait a week, a month, a year? Forever? Perhaps nobody can say, or perhaps you have a singular solution, in which case please let me know.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
