No.34
I couldn't wait to tell you in the end, how wonderful I believe you all to be. I figured a lot of you will be working today, tomorrow, the next day; not everything can stop. This time of year throws so many people into a strange, stunned sort of existential chaos—a feeling of exhaustion and anticipation, a inherent questioning and realigning our bodies to the change on the calendar.
It's strange really, how tied we ultimately are to the passing of time.
Below is something that, for me, this Christmas is seemingly missing—it's not even cold enough here to wear a coat.
A THOUGHT:
We are floating high, higher
above the water now.
Our hearts dizzy and our heads
seasick but I cannot stop, this.
Those stretch marks on the ocean
below – you see them?
They make us feel so small.
I see them.
You see how high we are?
The end.
The art above is by Amy Friend, because it reminded me that we are, in fact, all made of stardust. That's pretty much it.
I hope you all spend the next week or so warm, safe, and full of gezellig.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
