No.32
Welcome to newsletter number thirty two. It's been an interesting week, dotted with sub zero temperatures, freezing fog, people I don't normally see, numb toes and an increasing frustration at my inability to keep my desk empty of clutter and plants and everything.
In the approach to Christmas, the city of Bath become a little frantic—as well as being home to me, it's also home to a famous Christmas market, which runs from the end of November for 2-3 weeks. The city is teeming with tiny people in the way an anthill spills ants everywhere, and there will only be more upon more of them as the days carry on, so I've stayed inside rather than braving the elbowing crowds and listened to the album that Gregory Alan Isakov recorded with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra on repeat:
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG/JOURNAL THIS WEEK:
Nothing to report here, because it got completely sidelined. Move along but stop to linger on this photograph of Bath waking up a few days ago.
BOOK-RELATED NEWS AND A THANK YOU:
This time next week, I'll be in Rome, for the Più libri più liberi book festival, which is ludicrious and exciting in equal measure. As well as chatting to journalist Marco Filoni about my books with Ilaria Piperno (who translated both of my books into Italian with a beauty and flair beyond us mere mortals), I'll also be doing a small event at a local Rome bookshop, the details of which I'm not totally sure of yet.
And as a thank you, for being a) lovely humans and b) being signed up to my newsletter, here is 20% and free worldwide shipping on everything in my Society6 shop! This is a special link just for you, but feel free to share it with family and friends... this is doubly great because this week I had time to put up all 52 illustrations from The Illustrated Book of Sayings.

THING NOBODY ELSE HAS SEEN:
1. Amelia, who is just the right amount of Christmas.
The end.
There we have it. Another week turned to dust in the best way, containing some memories to file away to look at later, and some to throw into the cold winter winds.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
