No.31
I won't lie to you, this will be short. It's 3:17pm on Saturday (i.e. only moments before this is scheduled to be sent) and the pink winter light is already slipping down the sky. I want to go running before darkness descends (I run a lot, to try and counterbalance all the hours I spend sitting down pencil in hand, like the true gargoyle that I am) and that means leaving soon; putting on enough reflective clothing to ensure that to oncoming automotives I look like a human glow stick. So I'll keep most thoughts close to my chest for now, and let you fill in any gaping holes.
BRIEF INTERLUDE/ANNOUNCEMENT:
All of the untranslatable words from my first book, Lost in Translation, were available as prints on my website for a long time, but they've moved house and now live over at Society6. Because this is apparently the weekend when everybody goes bananas and buys both useful and nonsensical things, Society6 have 20% off everything and free shipping until midnight Monday (PT time).
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG/JOURNAL THIS WEEK:
A grand total of one thing (this thing). It would have been two, but I was disorganised and altogether tired, so I'll pretend the other thing wasn't meant to be published (or indeed written) until next week and then everybody wins.
Or maybe nobody wins, I'm not sure. Here's a quote for you to read while I think about that, because it's beautiful and because I for one feel like I'm covered in pieces of lasting blue:
THING NOBODY ELSE HAS SEEN:
1. Made while in Canada (I was probably sitting inside listening to it rain with a determination that I have never before experienced).
The end.
OK, got to run (literally). Actually, I just thought of something. Because you are the newsletter contingent and I like you all very much, let me know if there is a particular thing you'd like as either a print or a product on Society6 and I'll sort it for you before Monday.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
