No.30
I occasionally wonder what my life would look like if it had gone 'to plan' (not that I particularly even had one, but you get my drift). Gone to plan in the sense that I could have jumped through all of society's educational and personal hoops, and probably ended up someplace shockingly different to here. Don't they stay that you can spend months, years with your head in what seems like life (but is actually sand), and then one day look up and realise you're someone else entirely? This is articulated far better by E.R. Frank below.
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG/JOURNAL THIS WEEK:
I changed my website entirely, decided to rename the blog to journal (not because it sounded more pretentious—which it definitely does—but because it reflected the contents in a way I preferred) and added/subtracted various small parts of the site just to confuse everyone further.
I also found time to migrate all of the Lost in Translation prints to Society6 because it made far more sense to make them easily available to whoever would like one, wherever they may be in the world, and with far more choice when it came to size and framing options. Hopefully by next week I'll have all of the prints up for The Illustrated Book of Sayings too.
Actually happened on the blog/journal this week: one half-finished thing from my sketchbook, and some flash fiction (in other words, a short story).
BOOK-RELATED NEWS:
This is sort of book related, perhaps just work related, but I'll be on a panel discussing the book #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso this coming Tuesday in London. It's a Rebel Book Club meetup, so if you're in town, have read the book (or both) and don't have a whole lot planned for Tuesday night, come and join in!
Read more about Rebel Book Club here and be easily persuaded by their mentions of fun and cocktails. If you think you're able to drop by, send me an email so I can look out for you!
THING NOBODY ELSE HAS SEEN:
The finished version of the sketchbook thing mentioned earlier.
The end.
When this newsletter gets sent off, I'll be busy improving my public speaking skills on a course in Bristol (such a hoot). Send me some luck backwards in time if you can manage that, and here's hoping you all have a fabulous weekend (all things considered and temporarily ignoring the state of most things, of course).
Farewell, see you next sometime.
