No.19
Remember that time when I said “Oh, so much will happen this week and I'll have trouble fitting everything in to one newsletter”? Well, that was last Saturday, and actually, this week was not fun. At all. I went to A&E twice, spent several days in bed and work therefore got done in a very erratic fashion. It's nothing too serious, but I've been knocked for six (a fabulous expression that is sadly not in my new book).
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK:
Blog? What is blog? HA HA HA that is a thing of the past this week and I will distract you from my apparent blogging failings with this bird's eye view of Omaha, Nebraska from 1868 painted by Albert Ruger.
WORK AND BOOK-RELATED NEWS:
In a mere five days, the UK edition of my new book will be out and about and that is just madness. Formally known as Speaking in Tongues, it will be in all the places where books are found and you can pre-order it here. Right now Amazon lets you save A WHOLE PENNY so probably worth it.
In other work news, I'm currently finishing up another typographic food map for Jodi Ettenberg of Legal Nomads. This will be the fourth, possibly fifth (?) map I've done for her, and I swear they keep getting more and more... dense. All I really know is, whenever I do work for Jodi I end up obscenely hungry.
This week I also wrote an endorsement for another author represented by JVNLA (my literary agency in New York which is full of the most delightful ladies you will ever meet). I'm so excited for her book, and below is what I decided to send as my screaming-from-the-rooftop endorsement. It's about the universe, and it's illustrated—what more could a person want.
THIS WEEK I FELL IN LOVE WITH:
Anything by the French company Season Paper. Specifically this notebook, below.
The end.
I have nothing else to say right now. Except for someone is going to have to physically hold me back from buying every single one of those notebooks.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
