No.17
This time around, I'm wondering how many ways of beginning this there will be, how many times I can introduce these pieces of my life with the same level of excitement. I believe this has been a good week, a normal week, a week filled mostly with work and family and staring at lavender bushes full of bees.
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK & WORK:
A little bit more information about my upcoming book, The Illustrated Book of Sayings. Some experimenting with calligraphy nibs, making up stories about the person I'm not. And, where would we be without Dumbledore.
In work related news, I'm revamping much of my website to coincide with the new book launch, which means clickable drawings and fun hidden pages with Beatles songs and I'm ever so thankful to the incredible manhuman who codes all of Maptia (I managed to persuade to help me because, quote, “Code doesn't get any easier than this”). I thought it was pretty cool. Below is part of the press page, because I like to do people's jobs for them.
BOOK-RELATED NEWS:
Nothing to report. Aside from ongoing preparation for the imminent IMMINENT! publication of The Illustrated Book of Sayings, and making decisions about Japanese covers and wondering when in heaven the French edition will finally be published. I know it will be wonderful I just feel exorbitant pressure to be patient.
THIS WEEK I FELL IN LOVE WITH:
Embriodery on paper by Emily Barletta. I've just listened to the podcast with her by The Jealous Curator (the 'Art For Your Ear' podcasts are always brilliant, I often listen while working). The link above will take you to the podcast and much more of her work.
The end.
There we go. I'm going to warn y'all now that there won't be a newsletter next week, as I'll be travelling to and fro. If you're angry about this, I can only defend my actions by saying that it is a sometimes newsletter. I'm off to the supermarket now, because that is the sort of thrilling outdoor activity we like to do on a Saturday.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
