No.14
We are almost halfway into what has been an odd sort of year, and life shows no sign of slowing down (in that sense, neither does the newsletter). Welcome to those of you who have signed up this past week, hello again to those of you who were already here waiting for me to write this one. It's a good 'un.
THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK:
A quote that spoke of hearts and silence and streets, me letting you all know that I centralised most of my website pages (oh, so important), and a piece of illustration from my next book, The Illustrated Book of Sayings.
You may have noticed that the untranslatable prints are now alphabetically organised! This is great news for those of you who got a bit cross using up 10 minutes trying to find the one you wanted.
For no particular reason (really it's because you're all lovely), the untranslatable prints (from Lost in Translation) have 20% off this week! Even better, nobody else except you guys know! Simply enter 'untranslatable20' at checkout.
BOOK-RELATED NEWS:
I'm about to send off Japanese contracts for my second book, The Illustrated Book of Sayings! They've loved Lost in Translation, people have been so kind about it, and now the same publishing house will also print book #2! I'm already wondering whether they'll be wanting a different cover.
And I'm currently working on the German version of Lost in Translation, which involves a lot of lettering, even more editing and a slight case of carpal tunnel syndrome.Â
THINGS NOBODY ELSE HAS SEEN:
1. Meet Vivian.
2. There's always another quote waiting in the wings.
The end.
I like these chats we have, I really do. Even if I'm doing most of the talking (which really isn't the case normally). Feel free to reply anytime, I always wonder who is out there and what it is you are doing. As it's a Saturday, I'm catching up on domestics (this involves running around homeware stores excitedly shrieking and trying to resist all the plants and all the ceramics), watering the 238478 plants already in the house (I'll include some classy succulent photos next week for sure), and making sure I think only about the minutes as I live them.
Farewell, see you next sometime.
