It has been, I think, a long time.
It has been, I know, a long time.
Below are some thoughts that were noted down almost two years ago exactly, because good thoughts seem harder to come by these days, at least the more useful kind, the kinder kind, the this-will-take-you-forwards kind. The heat of Europe the last week or so has everybody looking dried-up, and I am feeling distinctly in between–because I am, because we both are.
WORK-RELATED NEWS:
All of the lettering for the Spanish edition of Eating the Sun has been done, the UK edition of Eating the Sun (but with a different title, and a different cover) goes to print on July 11th, I wait quite endlessly for tax certificates relating to a plethora of countries to be returned by HMRC, and I begin to turn myself towards the physical making of a new book proposal, which feels, more or less, like trying to grow a tree inside of yourself from a seed in the heat of summer.
It sometimes seems as if years pass between drawings, depending on how many people and miles happen in the spaces, but this week ended with a man and his snail taking shelter from the rain, and I'm certain that was a good thing.
